The exhibition held at Trinity House by Axminster Art Society from 29th
March to 3rd April and was considered to be a great success by all concerned.
Whilst the credit crunch did limit the sale of artwork to a certain
degree, everyone who visited the show was most impressed. The visitors
were not just from the local area, but came from as far afield as Edinburgh,
Bristol and London. Comments ranged from "excellent" to "fantastic".
Being the first exhibition by the society to include craft work as well
as paintings, the visitors, over 300 of them, were treated to samples
of woodcarving, stained glass, jewellery, ceramics, and much more.

Visitors were encouraged to vote for their favourite exhibit and many
did, voting Art Society member, Ron Hall's, painting of a snow covered
Chard Guildhall as the winner. Pictured is the winner of the raffle
Mrs Wilson from Kilmington with her prize, an original pastel painting
by artist Graham Cox.
