On Friday, 30th. and Saturday, 31st. October, the Society held an exhibition
of art produced by members, at the Axe Vale Community College.
The hall where pictures were exhibited is a splendid place for an exhibition,
and ninety-five works were shown, well-displayed on the Society's
stands. There was art in almost every possible medium including
oil-paint, acrylic, water-colour, and wood-carving and
the standard was high, and much appreciated by those who came to see
the exhibition.
It was a pleasure for members to have a chance to see what their fellow,
artists were able to produce. Paintings were offered for sale, but,
in the event, only one picture was sold.
Visitors were invited to vote for their favourite exhibit, and the most popular
one proved to be a splendid carving in wood, by Keith Barnes, of a "
Green Man ",
a well-deserved result .
